The Sports Medicine Center at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatrician fellowship-trained in sports medicine to join a rapidly growing practice. The position includes a full-time academic appointment at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. It is preferred that the candidate have a strong interest in contributing to research and academic excellence in our organization, community and through national affiliations. Relocation assistance will be provided as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
The sports medicine team treats pediatric and adolescent sport-related musculoskeletal conditions and concussions. The current practice includes two, dual fellowship-trained, pediatric orthopedic and sports medicine surgeons, two primary care sports medicine pediatricians, three pediatric nurse practitioners, and three athletic trainers.
The practice is based in Frisco in a 350,000 square-foot purpose-built outpatient building and ambulatory surgery center about 25 miles north of downtown Dallas. A large portion of the facility is dedicated to the sports medicine clinic and sports therapy gym with outdoor training fields and a sports performance and movement science lab. Ancillary services include 3T MRI, EOS, X-ray, psychology, sports dietitian, child life specialists, lab and orthotics lab. An administrative office suite with private offices for physicians also includes community outreach and research staff.
