The Department of Medicine is seeking general internists to serve as clinician/educators in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota. These positions will work in the Primary Care Center in the M Health Clinics and Surgery Center and will be academic track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor.
As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas.

Clinical duties will involve day, evening and weekend hours and limited on-call duties.
Educational responsibilities will include teaching of medical students and residents.
Opportunities to participate in quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and other scholarly activities.
The candidate will have a commitment to clinical/QI/educational scholarship; advancement within the institution will depend on demonstration of clinical and scholarly achievement. The division has a mentoring program for all assistant professors to support them in their clinical, educational and scholarship pursuits.

Board eligibility or board certification in Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics.
Demonstrated excellence in patient care.

Must have or be able to attain a medical license in the state of MN.
Must be able to pass credentialing at all applicable sites.

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 45 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians.
