Under the direction of the Assistant Director, this position will supervise, coordinate, schedule, and evaluate the performance of both pharmacy technicians and stock area technicians. Responsible for creating and implementing service standards for the technicians, scheduling and convening regular technician staff meetings, and working with the Pharmacy and Procurement management teams to coordinate the work flow and staff the pharmacy for best efficiency. This position works closely with the pharmacy and procurement staff both to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy as well as the management of the pharmacy inventory.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality pharmaceutical care and patient satisfaction.
This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Pharmacy.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred and consideration given for any college level education.
Minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting required.
Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Working knowledge of computer software required including EPIC, and Lawson. Working knowledge of the ADC databases, Pandora software and the Controlled Substance Module is strongly preferred.
Needs to maintain pharmacy technician certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical pharmacy setting. Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule and work on all shifts as needed (D/E/N) to maintain consistency in pharmacy technician practices, etc. Must be able to stand or walk for approximately 70 percent of the shift. Time to be split - approximately 80% administrative and 20% in the work schedule.
