Clinical Pharmacist/Specialist-Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy

Your Role: The Oncology Pharmacy is responsible for all chemotherapy medication services to the Oncology patients. The clinical pharmacist/specialist is responsible for order origination, order verification, clinically referencing lab values for appropriate dosing of chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy drugs for standard of care therapies, as well as investigational therapies, communication and therapy coordination for transplant patients, including being a liaison and educator to the oncology staffing pharmacists and transplant team. Clinical pharmacists/specialists will be committee members for various multidisciplinary workgroups. Additionally, the clinical pharmacist will precept P4 students, PGY-1 residents and PGY-2 residents. This position will work under a Collaborative Practice Agreement and be dedicated to a rotational full-time ambulatory clinic and inpatient service for the care of Stem Cell Transplant patients. This position will have administrative responsibilities related to maintaining program SOPs and other protocols necessary for FACT accreditation.

Position Qualifications
Required:
- PharmD
- Pharmacist licensure in the state of Tennessee (or eligible)
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 oncology residency or equivalent experience

- Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) (when eligible)
Preferred:
- Experience in an oncology ambulatory clinic
- Experience working in an academic medical center
Position Shift:
- Schedule: 07:30am-4:00pm (varies depending on area)
- Rotating: On call and weekend coverage

The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH), Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt (Children's Hospital), Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH) and The Vanderbilt Medical Group (VMG).
This patient-centered service is provided through the Patient Care Center organization and clinic structure. The role of the Pharmacy is to promote safe and effective medication therapy for all patients and to provide oversight and leadership of the medication use system.
