Nursing Service is recruiting for one full-time Registered Nurse position for the Pain Procedural Nursing Service/ATU (Ambulatory Treatment Unit). The Registered Nurse is responsible for the pre and post procedural care of patients undergoing one day surgery or procedures. This includes pre-screens, post procedure monitoring, follow-up and patient education. Cross-training to the Pain Procedure room in order to provide coverage during leave periods or staffing shortages is essential. The registered nurse possesses basic knowledge and skills to apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting which will then enable effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning and/or support of the dying patient and significant others. In an entry level position, the nurse is committed to continued professional development. The responsibilities also include demonstration of knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients served in the assigned area of practice. This knowledge includes understanding changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to the adult and geriatric population. Duties include, but are not limited to: Documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition Collaborating with healthcare team members and other interdisciplinary teams to facilitate positive patient care outcomes, Providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems. Accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. Demonstrates organizational skills which enable completion of work in a timely manner with demonstrated ability to assume a leadership role in a patient centered program Establishes effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team Work Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, maybe required to take call as scheduled.
