NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Manager of Ambulatory Quality, Safety & Risk. This position is based will be based in Evanston, IL.
The purpose of this role is to review from a quality and patient safety perspective significant clinical and organizational events, manage in collaboration with physician leadership the peer review process, and work with interdisciplinary teams to identify and implement risk mitigation strategies.
This person will work with claims management to identify potential/actual liability and inform underwriters accordingly. Key measures of success are to decrease the frequency and severity of organizational patient safety events.
This person will collaborate with care transformation managers to help to identify key quality and patient safety issues that require broader system review and interventions.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Current IL RN license (highly preferred)
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or health related field (Master's degree highly preferred)
CPHRM (Professional in HealthCare Risk Management) certification (or must obtain within 6 months of eligibility of certification)
5+ years clinical experience
3+ years risk management experience
Experience in leading clinical quality case reviews using tools like root cause analysis. Ability to partner and work with physicians and clinicians. Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
Ability to deal with all levels of the organization confidently and professionally. Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations and priorities.
Ability to develop and present educational programs. Strong investigative and analytical skills. Multi-tasking capacity.
Ability to partner with a wide range of team members.
