The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time Clinical Scholar at the rank of Assistant Professor and on the Tenure Track who has a strong commitment to a career in research. An interest in hypertension and cardiovascular disease related to kidney disease is of special interest. A potential for competitively securing future research federal funding is desired.
Position Highlights:
The Division is currently comprised of 18 nephrologists, including 3 transplant nephrologists, many of whom are world-renown clinicians and researches.
Clinical practice will include outpatient clinics in the state-of-the-art M Health Clinics and Surgery Center.
Inpatient consult service will be at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Inpatient call is shared with the other members of the Division.

The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension's core missions are to provide comprehensive medical care for patients with kidney disease or hypertension, to perform cutting-edge research into the causes and treatment of kidney disease, and to educate physicians in the care of patients with kidney disease.

Qualifications:
Medical Degree or international equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship program.
Board eligible/certified with the ABIM.
Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA while in the United States.
