Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms. Coordinates functions and activities for all surgical specialties; maintains appropriate supplies, instruments, vendor needs, and physician preferences. Covers specialty service in absence of RN specialty leader. Assists in orienting new hires and training staff for the surgical specialties, i.e. procedures, equipment, new technology and changes in clinical practice. Participates in strategic planning and related implementation activities. Day to Day duties: * Scrub on all cases. * Ortho heavy Dept. totals/trauma/ sports Medicine. Spine, Ortho Spine w/navigation, Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, Cysto, Urology, GI, Robotics (DaVinci XI/ROSA), Gen, ENT, Hands GYN, Urology. * Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.* Ensure assignments for staff meet the daily needs.* Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.* Communicate case changes to staff, support, and coach staff to build confidence and growth.* Hold staff accountable to policy and high standard of practice.* Collaborate with other leads and management on daily case flow and efficiency. * Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day's cases. * Maintain Sterile field during procedures. * Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs. * Maintaining and updating preference cards.8 OR Suites +1 Cysto Room+1minor procedure room Approx. 400-450+ cases per month Schedule-40hrs/week- Days-5 x8hrs possibly 4 X10hrs- to be discussed during intevriews What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:* Two years of surgical tech experience* Experience in a specialty field preferred* Extensive experience in all service lines * Computer skills required* HS/GED required* Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required* Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado.* A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech* Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)* Call Required- combination of weeknights and weekends- approx. 6 shifts in 6 week schedule.* 30 min Callback radius requiredPhysical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen.
