Under minimal supervision of the Senior Director of Pharmacy Services, the Project Specialist provides system administrative and technical support to Pharmacy and serves as a resource to Pharmacy Leadership and Staff. Assists in the completion of projects in support of Denver Health's strategic initiative. Effectively manages the coordination of meetings, prepares proper documentation and presentations, compiles data, and updates key stakeholders as needed. Analyzes and tracks project deliverables and schedules.
Essential Functions:
Assists in the creation, preparation, and oversight of inter- and intradepartmental projects for the Senior Director of Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Leadership, and Project Coordinators. Establishes objectives, appropriate course of action, and timelines. Establishes a systematic approach to promoting efficiency and effectiveness. Organizes work day in order to manage multiple, simultaneous projects. Recognizes, initiates, and leads improvement efforts through initiative, judgment, tact, and discretion. Prepares and automates special department reports for management to reflect performance. Produces reports, compiles information, and analyzes and communicates results as needed. (40%)
Organize and submit department invoices to Accounts Payable for timely and accurate payment and budgeting. Completes purchase requests promptly. Assists in budget management and expenditure control. (15%)
Manage employee personnel files confirming that all documentation required by Joint Commission and the Colorado Board of Pharmacy is up to date and organized based on DH/TJC/BOP Standards. (15%)
Responsible for coordination of candidate interviews and travel if necessary. Coordinate and track department travel orders and approval workflow. Assists with student coordination and onboarding. (15%)
Participates in department meetings to assist in evaluation of operations, new programs, and operational changes that would affect performance, and makes recommendations. Composes correspondence, reports, minutes, memoranda, policies/procedures/guidelines, and other material. Ensures produced materials are neat, clear, attractive, and properly formatted. Maintains and continually develops competence with office technology. Designs, executes, and maintains department sites/boards with updated information, graphs, and visuals. (15%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
1-3 years Two years of project coordination, process improvement or administrative experience in healthcare or related field required Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
Ability to manage high volume workload from multiple leaders and staff members.
Ability to demonstrate professional work behavior by following guidelines as established by policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate information appropriately, express verbal and written thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge and application of project planning, development and implementation.
Ability to provide input on projects/programs, assist with associated work plans and able to manage the day-to-day execution of assigned projects.
